INTRODUCTION

HME is a turnkey supplier, installer and manufacturer of products for Design Technology school rooms complying with Health & Safety requirements covering products for brazing, welding, casting, forging and soldering, polishing, grinding, drilling and linishing of resistant materials. Millers, routers and lathes in manual and combined CNC systems. Products for enamelling, pottery and jewellery manufacture. Fume cupboards for science work, heat and fume extraction ductwork, wood dust collection units and bespoke classroom layouts compliant to COSHH requirements, British Standard 4163 and UK Department for Education BB81. Services for local exhaust ventilation and PUWER safety testing with product maintenance. All details are on our main website. www.hme-tech.com

HME are becoming increasingly involved with a government initiative called Building Schools for the Future (BSF) which in summary has pledged to rebuild all secondary schools between now and around 2015.  All items which are Health and Safety compliant can be moved across to the newly built school but a good deal of the Machines in the Metalworking, Wood and Art areas are out of date damaged or unsafe. HME look to repair or replace these machines and put together a plan including machine types, layout, installation and maintenance. We take guidance from a number of bodies and our work is well known in our industry as being very professional. This is a vibrant marketplace and very few Businesses work in our field so there are good long term prospects for our staff. We are a family business and have been trading since 1985. We have around 15 people and the turnover of our staff is very low since once anyone ‘gets their feet under the desk’ they tend to stay for many years. That must say something.
